My passion for visual arts, photography in particular, is closely associated with world travel and the USSR.
I grew up in Guadeloupe, a french island in the Caribbean. My discovery of the world started at home, through philately. Throughout my childhood, my father’s activities led him to receive a great amount of correspondence from many countries and in particular from the Soviet Union. These stamps became my window on the world. When my father was posted overseas, traveling without moving turned into the real deal.
Eventually, cameras became my method of choice for documenting my discovery of the world. In the mid 80s, I began using computers as a tool to create images. In the early 90s, 3D animation was all the rage. By then, it seemed I had enough skills to be offered my very first job as a computer graphics artist. A year later, the blockbuster movie Jurassic Park was released and its impact on me was huge, so much so that I have been involved in digital visual effects for television and film ever since.
